Posting From NYC

Can you believe this is the view from my hotel room.

 The weather is extremely variable over here, but when the sun does occasionally  brake through it's almost too warm !!

The whole family took the subway down to Greenwich Village to go to the massive saturday market. 

and i ended up with this sacklike bag. Looking at it now sat on the hotel bed with me, i realize it's kind of ugly but in a charming practical way.

ohhh well at 15 dollars i wont louse sleep over it ;)

Pre Packing !

  Things to do before leaving on vacation: 

• Decide to pack a week before you leave 
• Get your suitcase out five day before you leave 
• Look at your clothes three days before you leave 
• Decide you still have time to chill out 
• Realize you are leaving in the morning but have nothing in your suitcase  
• Flip out, pack frantically and pull an all-nighter  

yep this is pretty much my habit when it comes to packing !

 The same problem always arises for me when packing for New York. Because i am not one to ware terribly practical clothing, i find myself with an abundance of unsuitable clothing for running round NY trying to cram in all the things we want to do. 

Ahhh well... no point braking tradition now ;)   

Vibrancy

Found this amazing little budder guy in TK along with this dress and oddly they seamed to match, 

and now i have officially decided to re decorate my room based entirely on this little guy... 

Going to pack my stuff for NYC now, I am beyond excited !

Sequins and Nail Art

So we are re-doing practically out whole house and in and amongst the absolute crap, i stumbled across this top hat, apparently it was my great great grandfathers 

(brings vintage to a whole new meaning !) so i decided its a keeper. 

P.S so glad nail art is coming back into fashion because i LOVE it, the crazy things you can do with an eyeliner style pain brush.

The Acne Way

Mr Johansson does it again ! 

Love the extremes in fabrics and color in the new Acne Resort collection, thinking some of the gorgeous orange pieces would go great with my new zara skirt... what do you think, too orange ?!?

Sorry about the crapy mirror picture. oh did i mention i stayed in the creepiest room while in Windsor, with wardrobes propped in front of blocked of doorways and a bathroom door that made that horror movie creaky sound !     

 My mum was a bit trigger happy, taking pictures of everything ! 

The wind became my enemy in these pictures.

Windsor For The Weekend

 We were blessed with the most amazing weather for the first day down in London... second day we weren't so lucky. 

Rayban Sunglasses, Zara trousers and the most useful blanket cape thing from Topshop.

What I've been working on

For a while now i have admired Alyssa Monks talent with oils, and her ability to create emotional depth in her work. So i thought what better way to waste away the summer holidays than by attempting to copy one of her pieces, (i chose Smush) each week i plan on posting my progress... or lack of in some cases, above is what i did in the first week.    

Money Makes The World Go Round !

 

Been Thinking a lot about money recently about spending it but mostly saving it. Got a four day world wind trip planed to New York and its safe to say anticipation is getting the better of me, influencing erratic buys and money seemingly melting away !  

There's A Story In Which My Eyes Shut

I promised an outfit post so here it is, just so you know hiking in insane boots and a think parker is not that fun, but me and my mum made the best of it laughing at me tottering about.

They Are Finally Here !!

 Even though they are last seasons acne shoe the acne admire wedge boot has enchanted me (not exaggerating ;)) Was hoping to do an outfit post in them today but the wether was just so beautiful, which is unusual for england, i could lift my self from the sun lounger. However i am sure there will be rain on the horizon.  

The Hepworth... well bits of it.

Last weekend i visited the Hepworth museum in Wakefield, i was slightly disappointed to find the majority of the pieces were modern art. To be honest i just don't get modern art but i can still see the skill behind them. I was disappointed farther more by the fact that no pictures were to be taken in the gallery... I was bewildered how could one little picture effect these vast blocks of concrete or wood. We ended up with three rather broody security guards following us round like aggressive sheep, and left after 20 minutes.
